• resmi adi agm-114 hellfire olan cok amacli fuzedir. baslangicta sadece helikopterden karaya fırlatılan bir gudumlu fuze olarak tasarlanmistir. bu yuzden hellfire ismi de helicopter fire-and-forget kelime grubunun kısaltmasindan esinlenilerek koyulmuştur. daha sonradan insansiz hava araçları, gemiler ve kara araçlarından fırlatılan modelleri geliştirilmiştir.
  
  standart modeli yarı-aktif lazer gudumludur. hedefin atışı yapan platformdan fuze yerine ulaşana kadar lazerle işaretlenmesi gerekir. hellfire ii'de (agm-114k ve sonrasi) ise sonradan kilitlenme ozelligi getirilmiştir. hedef başka bir kaynaktan işaretlenebilir, fuze boşa fırlatıldıktan sonra işaretleme yapılabilir veya yarı yolda başka bir hedefe tekrar kilitlenebilir.
