  8 mile filmini yazan sahsin eminem'in hayat hikayesiyle john updike'in rabbit run i ile ortusturdugu, rabbit angstrom karakterini bir sekilde eminem'in hikayesine monte ettigi acik. rabbit run kitabi (ki serinin ilk kitabidir) rabbit karakterinin kendisini sinirlayan, mahkum olmak istemedigi alkolik esi ve ondan olan cocugundan kacisi sirasinda basina gelenleri anlatir. eminem in hikayesi de tuhaf bir sekilde evden kacan babanin alkolik anneden olma cocugu olarak karsimiza cikar. eminem'in hikayesi de sanki o jenerasyonun deadbeat father fenomeniyle ardinda biraktigi cocugun kaldigi yerden devam ediyor. eminem'in hayatinin bu kitap ile bu kadar ortusmesi updike'in icinde yasadigi ne kadar rahat gozlemleyip, tahlil edebildiginin en guzel delili gibi.

• john updike'ın rabbit serisinin ilk kitabı. 1960 yılında amerika'da yayımlanmış. kitap 26 yaşındaki harry 'rabbit' angstrom'un hikayesini anlatıyor. beceriksiz, istikrarsız, tüketici, korkak ve kültürsüz harry angstorm eski bir basketbol yıldızı. fakat bir taşra kasabasında pazarlamacılık yaparak köşeye sıkışmış bir hayat sürdürmekte. en iyi yaptığı şey kaçmak. kendini tehdit altında hissettiği an arkasına bile bakmadan eyaletler arası bir mesafeyi katetmekte üstüne yok fakat durduğu nokta yine sıkıntılarının merkezi. dönüp dolaşıp kendi kovuğuna yerleşiyor. döneminin tipik orta sınıf zaaflarına sahip aslında tavşan. evli bir çocuk sahibi ve kendi gerçekliğine dair en ufak bir fikri bile yok.

  şarkının anlattıkları gerçekten etkileyici. o ana kadar yaşadıklarından ötürü bi şekilde köşeye sıkışmış hisseden ve içinden çıkamadığı bir çemberde döndüğünü düşünen insanlar için çok ince vuruşlar var sözlerde.

  tesadüfen radyoda denk geldim , eminem'in böyle bir şarkısı olduğunu bile bilmiyordum . bu entry bilinmeden geçip giden, süper şarkılara gelsin o zaman.
• eminem'in gelmiş geçmiş... ne eminem'i ya... gelmiş geçmiş en iyi rap performansıdır bu şarkıdaki kayıt. vokal kullanımı, flowu, kalemi, tekniği... eminem'in mc gömleğini giyip sırılsıklam ettiği bir şarkı. daha iyisini dinlemedim. bu şarkıyı rakim bile dinlese önünü ilikler.
