• clannad'ın ta 1976 tarihinde çıkardığı ve fakat bizim çok geç keşfettiğimiz dulaman adlı albümünden ("geliyor şimdi de" diye devam edesim geldi sezen cumhur önal olup) müziğine bakacak olursak pek neşeli, oynak; hikayeye bakacak olursak hiç de öyle olmadığını anlayacağımız bir parçası. loreena mckenitt'in albümlerinde de karşımıza çıkan ve irlanda halk şarkılarında-türkülerinde sıkça değinilen rakip iki kız kardeşin (duruma göre bazen de iki yakın arkadaşın) hikayesini anlatıyor.
  
  kısaca bakacak olursak -ki şarkının uzun göründüğüne bakmayın, bildiğimiz türkü anlayışıyla tekrarlardan oluşuyor- iki kız kardeş var, daha fazla oldukları tahmin edilen bir kız kardeşler grubunun en büyük ve en küçük üyesi olan bu kız kardeşlerin ikisi de siyah saçlı, lacivert gözlü ve beyaz tenli olduğunu tahmin ettiğim ve bu kadar ayrıntıdan sonra yakışıklı olduğunu tahmin etmeme gerek kalmamış olan johnny isimli gence aşık. ya da belki de büyük kardeş aşık küçük kardeş değil, alas, johnny'nin aklı küçük kardeşte. hikaye coni'nin (üşeniyorum artık yazmaya gerçekten) küçük kardeşe soğuk irlanda havasında sıcak tutsun için kunduz kürkünden şapka ve anlamını açıklamaya gerek görmediğim bir altın yüzük vermesiyle açılıyor ve olaylar feci şekilde gelişiyor.
  
  feci şekilde gelişen olaylardan açıkça gördüğümüze göre büyük kardeş tam bir iblistir üstelik kendisini sevmeyen bir erkek için küçük kardeşine etmediğini bırakmayacak bir insandır, ama belasını bulacaktır. hikayeden almamız gereken ders (bu bir halivud filmi olmadığı için) evet, arada iyiler bade olsa da kötülerin de cezasını bulduğu yönünde. şarkıdan almamız gereken ders ise irlandalıların çok güzel müzik yaptığı.
