• henüz hip hop kültürünün oluşmaya başlamasına 15 yıl varken bestelenmiş olan "subterranean homesick blues"un ilk rap şarkısı olduğunu düşünüyorum. funky bir ritmi olmasa da konuşarak söylenen sözleriyle ilk rap müzisyenlerine ilham kaynağı olmuş olmalı.
  ayrıca bu şarkı ile ilgili ilginç bir bağlantı da radiohead'in a wolf at the door'unda vardır. iki şarkının söylenme tekniği arasındaki benzerlik dikkat çekicidir. "a wolf at the door"u ilk dinleyişimde bunun "subterranean homesick blues"un sözleri değiştirilmiş bir coverı olduğunu düşünmüştüm hatta.
