• yeni londra tiyatrosu, kraliyet tiyatrosu gibi ünlü mekanlar caddesi drury lane'de, viktorya devrinin -üç tarafı denizlerle çevrili ülkemizin bir zamanlar sütçüleri, yoğurtçuları misali- kapı kapı dolaşıp muffin satan muffinci amcalarına yazılmış, pek frankofon mesaj^** taşıyan bir çocuk şarkısı:
  
  birinci çocuk: do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man? do you know the muffin man who lives in drury lane?
  ikinci çocuk: yes, i know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man, oh, yes, i know the muffin man, who lives in drury lane!
