• kurtaj hapinin asil ismi.
• anti-progestin'dir. hamileliği destekleyen hormonların salgılanmasını engelleyen bir haptır. hamile bir kadın bu hapı aldığında hormon desteksizliği sebebiyle düşük yapar. etkili olması için genellikle hamileliğin 5-7nci haftalar arasında alınması gerekir. bunun yanısıra, yanında mutlaka (en az) bir prostaglandin salgılatıcı alınması gerekir. genellikle bu hapı kullanarak hamileliğine son vermek isteyen bir kadın 3 adet 200mg'lik hap alır, bu doz düşük yapmak için yeterlidir. iki gün sonra da prostaglandin salgılatıcıyı alır. (dediler bana).
  
  ertesi gün hapı ile karıştırılır, oysa ikisi çok farklıdır.
• günümüzde mizoprostol'le kombinasyonu tercih edilmektedir.

• yani mifepristone. normal gebeliğin devamı için progesteron hormonu gereklidir. mifepristone ise antiprogesterondur. rahimdeki progesteron reseptörlerini bloke ederek gebeliğin devamı için gerekli olan progesteron etkisini engeller ve düşük gerçekleşir. türkiye'de henüz kullanılamamakta. etkinliğini arttırmak için birlikte misoprostol de kullanılır. misoprostol rahimi kasarak düşüğe ve içeride parça kalmamasına yardımcı olur. 7. gebelik haftasının altında ve elbette doktor kontrolü altında kullanılır.

  aynı ilaç terapötik dozlarda progesteron reseptörlerini bloke ederken, yüksek dozlarda ise kortikosteroid reseptörlerini bloke ederek cushing sendromunun tedavisinde kullanılır.
