  ınfants who suffered from prenatal cocaine exposure, colloquially known as crack babies, were often subject to deformation and other issues upon birth. ıt was theorized that these children would suffer from a variety of physical, mental, and other disabilities as a result of the exposure to the drug during the crack epidemic in the 1980s; however, recent studies suggest the majority of “crack babies” were able to grow up and live normal lives, free from longstanding effects.
