• coke, coca colanın tescilli markasıdır. ancak ingilizce konuşulan ülkelerde ve özellikle amerika'da coke kelimesi, kola ile aynı anlamda kullanıldığından bu durum pepsinin hiç hoşuna gitmemiş, coca cola'yı mahkemeye vermiştir. pepsi'nin gerekçesi "müşteri bi restorana gittiğinde 'give me a coke' diyor, belki de pepsi içecek ama coke denildiği için garsonlar hemen coca cola getiriyorlar, bu da haksız rekabete neden oluyor"dur. yine de sonuçta, pepsi davayı kaybetmiş ve üzüntüsünden kahrolmuştur.
• bazilarinin sandiginin aksine ingilizcede coke direk kola demek degildir. kola cola olarak yazilir. coke kelimesi markanin malzeme adi gibi benimsenmesine magruz kalmistir.
