• canlı performansı enfes olan by the waydeki hüzünlü şarkı, john fruscianteşarkının ilk bölümünde hem gitar hem de klavye çalar, şarkının yarısında gitarını 2 saniye gibi kısa bir sürede değiştirir ve şarkıya akustik gitarla devam eder.
• kanımca by the way albümünün en iyi şarkısı. özellikle hikayesini bilerek dinleyince bambaşka bir tad verir.
• sanki iki sarkiymis gibi, iki parcanin birlestirildigi, bu parcalarin yine de harika bir uyum icinde oldugu, cok cok cok güzel rhcp parcasi. son kitasi bitirir insani; sabahin köründe denizin kenarinda olup, kalin bir hirka giyinmis, biraz üsüyüp, ölülerini düsünmektir.
