• antik yunan'da demokrasiyi oligarşiden ve tiranlıktan korumak için kullanılan bir araç. bununla ilgili ilk yasa atinalılarca m.ö. 410 temmuzunda dört yüzler darbesinin ardından demokrasi tekrar sağlanınca çıkarılmıştır ve "demophantos kararnamesi" olarak bilinir. bu kararname, tüm atinalilara "atina'daki demokrasiyi deviren veya demokrasi ortadan kaldırıldığında yönetim pozisyonunda bulunanların" öldürülmesi sorumluluğunu yüklemiştir.
