• curtis harrington'in yonettigi '67 yapimi bir film.
  basrollerini ise james caan ve katharine ross ustlenmisler.
  konusu ise: genc montgomery ciftinin bolca parasi ve bir o kadar da bos vakti vardir. oyun oynamayi sevmektedirler. bu noktada filmin adinin oyunlar oldugunu hatirlatalim. daha sonra lisa shindler (simone signoret) aralarina katilir. lisa hayati "extrem" yasamis, gormus-gecirmis bir kadindir. onlari silahli oyunlar-sakalarla tanistirir. ama şakanın bol oldugu yerde herkesin tahmin edebilecegi gibi kaka da dogucaktir. hatta şaka içinde şaka, ve de ne yazikki kaka içinde de kaka vardir.
  post-modern şaka-kaka kurgusunun gayet iyi verildigi bir film. 90larin sonu ve ne yazikki hala gunumuzde film sonunda seyirciye tokat atma modasi diye bir sey var. iste oyle filmlerden etkilenenlere cok etkileyici olmasa da bu filmi, ama ozellikle henri-georges clouzot'nun
  les diaboliques'ini oneriyorum.
• nazareth'in 1982 çıkışlı albümünün harika şarkısı. love hurts'den sonra en çok bilinen nazareth şarkısıdır. dan mccafferty'nin vokali bu şarkıda muhteşemdir. ikili vokal bu şarkıda o kadar güzel kullanılmıştır ki zaman zaman bambaşka biri söyler zannedersiniz şarkıyı.

  bana mı öyle geldi bilmiyorum ama bu parçanın giriş müziği dinleyende the xx tadı veriyor. rahatsızlık veren bir durum değil bu; zaten julian son dörtlükte vokali ile şaha kalkarken insan, ''gel kim olursan ol gel julian; birlikte söyleyelim'' diyiyor..

• albüm için^* "pek tatmadım" dense bile, bu yargıyla dinleme esnasında dikkati çekip tekrarlarına başlatan şarkı. sonraki günlerde de bi' "can çekmesi" yaşatır, dinlemeyi zorunlu hale getirir sanki. julian casablancas'ın böyle böyle, daha sündürmesi söyleyişleri, mızırdanması önce "neden hoşuma gidiyor" dedirtse bile, "living in an empty world" kısmı özellikle bağlar.
  
  bir de bu sözlere sahip ama aynı zamanda da son derece pozitif havası yok mudur, işte budur zaten strokes'un kıyısından punk'a bile bağlanması. "modern/apolitik punk", post-punk, punk-revival-without-politic-subjects (yeni tür ürettim şimdi).
  
  ama yeter. daha dinlemesem daha iyi olur. hayır, şimdi de şarkıya kur mu yapıyorum, anlamadım ki "istemiyorum seniaa" şeklinde...
