• rex the dog sayesinde keşfedildi bu grup. veya şöyle diyelim, rex the dog grubun heartbeats parçasına muhteşem bir remix yaptı ve önce kendini meşhur etti. ama bu aynı zamanda the knife'ın elektronik müzik dünyasının yeraltında hızlı bir şekilde yayılmasına yardım etti. parçanın rex the dog remixi 2004 sonunda yayınlanır ama heartbeats single olarak ilk 2003'te çıkmış, o zaman meşhur olmamışlardı ama rex the dog sonrası oldular.
  
  hatta vokalist karin'in röyksopp'a vokal yapması bile bu sayede olmuştur denilebilir, aradaki bağlantıya somut bir kanıt bulamadım (henüz) ama işlerin akışı eminim bu şekilde olmuştur ve arada bir bağlantı vardır. (bkz: çirkin kadın yoktur az vodka vardır)
