  basarili bir film oldugunu dusunmuyorum. ciddi olma/eglencelik hos bir film olma arasinda kararsiz kalinmis hissi uyandiriyor. sorun, olacaklari rahatlikla onceden tahmin edebilmeniz degil. zaten boorman da bunu istemis. nitekim filmin son sahnesini, en basta gosteriyor.
  filmde olaydan cok onem verilen sey, martin cahill karakteri. olacaklari tahmin etseniz de etmeseniz de arkaniza yaslanip cahill'in nasil tepki verecegini izlememiz istenmis. ancak verilen karakter hic de ilgi cekici olmadigi ve film boyunca bir gelisme gosteremedigi icin filmi izlemenin pek bir anlami kalmiyor. bir de tahmin edebildiginiz olaylar birbirini tekrarlamaya baslayinca; the general iyice keyif kacirici bir hâle burunuyor.

  bugün film festivali bağlamında atlas'taki gösterimi, müziklerini orkestra ^* canlı çaldığından keyif vericiydi. yer yer sıkıcı olmakla beraber siyah beyaz ve sessiz filmler, bu filmlerde abartılı oyunculuğun ve mimiklerin, sürekli müziğin kullanımı bence çok hoş. insanı olduğu zamandan alıp başka bir zamana götürüyor.
  film festivalinin orkestra ile siyah beyaz film gösterimleri bence kaçırılmamalı, gerek geçen sene damgalı kadın, gerekse bu yıl general müziğin canlılığının verdiği ayrı, biraz büyülü ve nostaljik bir ruh hali içerisinde izlendiler ve bence çoğu filmden bu farklılık yüzünden daha güzeldiler.
