  batı kudüs'te israil hükümeti tarafından el konulmuş bir evin hikayesi üzerinden 1948'de filistin'e karşı açılan savaşın izlerini sürüyor. el halil yakınlarında bir taş ocağında arap taş yontucuları ev inşa etmek üzere şehirlere gönderilecek olan taşları kesiyor. kudüs'ün arap kesiminde bir şantiyede filistinli işçiler bir evin takviye edilmesi işinde çalışıyorlar. 1948'e dek bir arap ailesinin olan evde şimdi yahudi bir doktor ve ailesi kalıyor. bir arap taş ustası bir yandan çalışırken bir yandan neden yahudiler'e öfke dolu olduğunu anlatıyor. evin şimdiki sahibi kendi hikayesini anlatıyor. evi ilk inşa eden yaşlı adam evi nasıl terk etmek zorunda kaldıklarını anlatıyor. bir inşaat alanına saçılmış anılar ve hikayeler ortasında bir ev israil-filistin çatışmasının sessiz tanığı olarak duruyor.
